Tourism and Hotel Management Program is an associate degree program.
The aim of the department; The aim of this course is to educate qualified employees, middle and upper level management candidates for tourism sector by providing a modern, scientific and high quality education in the field of tourism management.
For this purpose, our students acquire knowledge and skills about English as a foreign language, information technologies, tourism sector and tourism enterprises, modern business administration and management.
Our school has a service room where students can practice, a computer lab with internet connection and a conference hall. Training is provided in technically equipped classrooms such as projection and internet connection. Practical service training is provided within the contracted hotel.
Within the scope of the department, the user training of Opera PMS and Elektra program which is a hotel automation system is given in the course. Qualifying students can apply for certificate exams with their personal preferences. In addition, the Tourism and Hotel Management department organizes various seminars where experts and managers from the business world transfer their knowledge and experience. Our graduates are preferentially employed in all areas of the tourism sector.
In order for each student to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and to take the final exam, they must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the applications.
Students are subjected to at least 1 midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of mid-term exam (scores obtained from assessment tools such as homework, laboratory exam, quiz, etc.) to the achievement grade is 40%, and the contribution of final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Final exam is required to get at least 40 points. Students who get one of the AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, DC and DD letter grades are considered successful. In order to complete the program successfully, it is necessary to pass all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), to obtain at least 2.00 weighted GPA over 4.00 and to complete the internship successfully.
It is possible to switch from this program to higher degree programs. It is possible to transfer from the associate degree program of Tourism and Hotel Management to the following undergraduate programs by exam;
Business, Business Informatics, Business Management, Business-Economics, Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Tourism Management and Hospitality and Tourism and Hotel Management.
